Tinker Creek Greenway- Hollins Trailhead to Carvin’s Cove Picnic Area Hike

This hike is an easy, 5 mile, beat-the-heat hike. We’ll meet at the Tinker Creek Greenway Hollins Trailhead at 7:30 a.m. There we will buy $3 day day passes for Carvin’s Cove. You will need exact change or a season pass if you have one.
Leaving promptly, we’ll start on the natural surface trail which leads gradually upwards to a ridge where we enter the Carvin’s Cove’s trail system.
We’ll follow the trail down the ridge above the lake, with peeks through the leaves at the lake, until we are at the shore. At 2.5 miles, we’ll stop at the pretty picnic area on the lakeshore for snacks before returning up the gradual slope along the trail on which we came.
The trail is mostly shaded and we will hope for some breeze off the lake.
Bring water, snacks, emergency rain gear, and $3 or a season pass for Carvin’s Cove.
