Jenny’s Knob to Kimberling Creek

Let’s hike off the Thanksgiving meal! This is the southern terminus of the RATC’s section of trail. We will hike north, crossing Jenny’s Knob and ending at the parking area located at Kimberling creek suspension bridge on Rt 608. Total distance 9.6 miles. The hike is strenuous based on distance, the two elevations are moderate. We will hike at a leisurely pace manageable by everyone. We will stop on the peak for a meal. In order to accommodate the Roanoke folks, I plan a later starting time, so with the shorter days, a good working headlamp will be required as we will finish just before dark if all goes well. Good shoes, water and layers are recommended. We will meet at 10:30 in Dublin, Va, in the empty parking lot located next to Hardee’s on Rt 100 at the intersection with Rt 11. Suggested carpool fee of $4 for Roanoke folks, $2 for NRV. We will caravan to the parking area at Kimberling creek bridge and drop some vehicles and then continue to starting point on Rt 611.
