Go Outside Festival 2018!!!! (aka GO Fest)

The annual Go Outside Festival is our region’s biggest outdoor-themed event! For 3 days, Rivers Edge Park in downtown Roanoke will be packed with free demos, activities, music, food, and outdoorsy folks of all stripes. You can find the details at https://www.roanokegofest.com/

RSVP here if you plan to attend in some way. If you’d like to meet up with other RATC members, or you can volunteer at the shared RATC/ ATC tent, please mention that in the comment section or email me (Kathryn) at kherndon@appalachiantrail.org.

Our activity this year will be a short, self-guided interpretive trail in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Trail System Act: https://www.roanokegofest.com/events/camp/celebration-trail/. We’ve got prizes for folks who complete the “trail” to reveal the secret code word!

Once again, we’ll be next to our friends in the SAWS tent, which will be offering hands-on crosscut saw demos. So that should help attract some folks to our tent as well.

It would be great to have 2-3 volunteers for each of the shifts below. I’ll be in touch with volunteers with more details via email. GO Fest is always a lot of fun, and a great chance to recruit new RATC members and volunteers. Thanks for your help!
