Dripping Rock – Old AT – Shamokin Gorge
About 10 miles; 80 miles from the parking area; Not too strenuous.
Amazing multiple viewpoints, really cool trails, and spectacular waterfalls! This hike has it all. I don’t usually like to drive this far for a day hike, but this one is worth it. Starting at the Dripping Rock parking area on the BRP, we will hook up quickly with the old AT. and head out to Devils Knob. This part of the hike has multiple west facing viewpoints and some cool rock scrambling. Connecting with several other trails we head to Shamokin Gorge. We will visit both the Lower and Upper Falls. These are amazing after rains. We finish up by hiking up the gorge trail back to the old AT and our parking area.
