Blues, Brews, and BBQ at the Pearisburg Farmers Market

There are so many fun things to do!

Let me know in the comments if you are coming to enjoy the festivities or if you can help out with the short work trip, the outreach tent, or the hike to Angels Rest.

The new Pearisburg Farmers Market features a different theme and activities each Saturday. June 13, in addition to live music, a beer garden with Parkway Brewing Co, and barbecue, ATC and RATC will have a tent for outreach and an opportunity for the community and any hikers passing through to lend a hand caring for the A.T.

Work trip participants will meet at the ATC tent at 9:30 am, then caravan over to the Pearis Cemetary parking lot on Old Rte 100. They will spend about 2 hours picking up trash, lopping, and cutting back brush on the section of Trail near the River that tends to get overgrown and accumulates trash from the highway. We will provide gloves, trash bags, loppers, snips and folding saws, and may want to bring some extra long sleeved shirts as there is poison ivy in the area. Participants will return to the Farmers Market afterward for a 10% discount coupon for lunch and a souvenir from ATC (I’ll bring a few options depending on how many show up!)

There is also a hike to Angels Rest starting at 2 pm. Hope to see you there!
